Tanya Schaefer-Montoya
General Manager, Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Barrie

Tanya Schaefer-Montoya is the General Manager for the Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton in Barrie. Tanya has been an employee since 2018 and comes with 20 years of hotel and resort experience.

Tanya is also a part-time professor at Georgian College and, teaches three courses in the Tourism Management program, and has been working at the college for six years. Tanya has 13 years of previous work experience from Horseshoe Valley Resort in the sales department. Tanya is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Tourism Management diploma from Georgian College. In 2021, Tanya Won the Tourism Management Strategic Planning Award. 

Tanya was responsible for selling and contracting two large events, the Centurion Bike Race and the Warrior Dash Adventure Race. These two legacy events brought thousands of dollars to Barrie and the surrounding area, driving tourism spending to restaurants, local shops, and hotels.

Tanya has lived in Barrie for the past twenty years and enjoys travelling to Muskoka to her cottage with her family, yachting, and visiting her family's homes in exotic destinations.
